ON THE WATER: THE COGGINS x RANCOURT BOAT SHOE
Hey now! Very excited about this new project I worked on with my friends at Huckberry and Rancourt. It’s an elegant boat shoe with a little more support and it’s made in Maine, a pretty good equation. I was inspired by the Beaufort, the cool town in South Carolina, where you can visit a great bookstore, drink a good whisky and chase redfish all in one day.
I wrote a big piece about it for Huckberry that will go out to their mailing list later today, but I wanted to let you know about them first. The shoes feature Lactae Hevea, a natural sole from the French company Reltex. They’re made from the sap of the hevea tree, and it turns into a 100% natural latex rubber. These soles offer a lot of support and are amazingly comfortable. And now (drum roll please), they’re finally available in white. They’re the perfect sole for a boat shoe, and it goes well with a nice dark leather that will get better over time. Here’s a picture Matt Hranek took of me while we went fishing and got absolutely destroyed by the wind and cold. But that’s alright, we’ll be back.
You can learn more about the shoes here. I’ve been wearing a sample for the last four months and I just love them, and hope you do too.
